Enige tijd geleden werd bekend dat er een tweede Blade Runner film moet gaan verschijnen. In een interview met Speakeasy heeft filmmaker Ridley Scott nu bevestigd dat hij de sci-fi film gaat regisseren en dat het een sequel moet gaan worden.

De 74-jarige Scott heeft onlangs de opnames afgerond van de Alien prequel Prometheus. Over de voortgaan van het vervolg op de sci-fi klassieker Blade Runner: “I think I’m close to finding a writer that might be able to help me deliver. We’re quite a long way in, actually.”

Over het origineel uit 1982 zegt Scott: I think I was so unpopular because the core of the film is a story about mortality." En: “Even though people think it’s a cool Philip Marlowe film with Deckard played by Harrison Ford the film is very much about humanity.”

En keert Harrison Ford terug in de titelloze Blade Runner film? Scott “No, not really."
